Advice on transitioning from breastfeeding to sippy cup

Charlie used to take breastmilk from a bottle with no problem. Suddenly she will not and I am trying to begin the transition to whole milk. She refuses any milk unless it is directly from me now. Ahh! Any advice?

Ryker did really well when we transitioned him; however, he was a lot younger then Charlie. We went from breastmilk to formula and at nine months whole milk. Sorry I don't have any advice :( Maybe try having Vinnie give it to her. It may be she just doesn't want it from you.

Well, I am not in that position yet, but I know that when I pump my milk, Adriano is the one who feeds Luca with the bottle. I don't want Luca to associate me with the bottle, only daddy. So, perhaps if Vinnie feeds Charlie the cow's milk she may be ok with it. She will know that mommy's milk is different than daddy's milk. Maybe also, when you go to feed her, combine some of your milk with the new milk? I don't know if that's legal. :o) Just so you know though, I have friends here that continue to feed their breastmilk to their 15 month + children.

Thanks for replying ladies. The thing is Charlie was taking a bottle of breastmilk from me and Vinnie. Then 3 weeks ago, I went to give her a bottle of whole milk and she refused. Now, no matter what is in the bottle, she will not drink it. I tried a sippy cup with both milks too. She will sip it and then she is done. So, I decided to skip the afternoon feeding. I give her milk in a sippy cup and if she takes it, great. If not, oh well. She is getting plenty of calcium from other foods. What really stinks that is at night she will not take it unless it is from me. So, if I am not home , Vin will just rock her to sleep without milk. Then she gets up hours later literally asking and signing for "milk". Little stinker. Ugh.

Both my kids really well going to breast to cup! At 6 months I started giving my kids sippy cups of just "Brita" water and never did the bottle thing, I figured I'm home with the kids, but my problem is now getting him to drink Milk, I've strated trying to get Bryson onto Milk and he doesnt want it, so I dont knw what to do, I'm starting to ween him from nursing, and I have him down to Morning and Evening, and sometimes in the afternoon, so Im kinda there with you! I'm sorry I don't have any advice, but thought I would share anyway! Madyson transitioned great and I stoped Nursing her at almost 15 months, but the last 2 were just at night, but Brycer's on the other hand is being quite a little bugger with it!!

Hey there. I wanted to update on our transition from breastmilk to milk. So, Charlie is now taking soy milk in a sippy cup! She wouldn't drink the whole milk. So, she is now drinking cold soy milk in a sippy cup in the afternoon. I am still nursing in the morning and at night. When I am not home at night, Vin will give her some soy milk. She takes her time with it and only drinks a little bit, but she is drinking it and not asking for my milk in the middle of the night! I am excited!
